Having a unique appearance can draw people’s attention towards you instantly. Angel, a cat at the shelter, was not treated kindly by other cats due to her distinctive look that made her seem angry all the time. While volunteering at Chittenden County Humane Society, Kaetlyn Koch from Portland, Maine came across a photo of this feline who was being kept safely in an employee’s office to prevent attacks from other shelter cats. In an interview with TODAY, Koch talked about the now famous cat known as Loki Kitteh and how she had no intention of adopting a pet at the time, but was compelled to meet her.
When she arrived at her new workplace, they gave her a tour and introduced her to a grumpy-looking cat hiding in the back. The feline had big blue eyes that glared at her. Her colleagues explained that the cat was shy but would occasionally warm up to certain employees. They gave the cat some treats before allowing her to retreat back into the desk drawer. The following day, the woman decided to adopt the cute vampire-looking cat and named him Loki Kitteh. From then on, the two became inseparable, and their story became history.
Loki, the shelter cat, has a name that is a nod to Norse mythology, which is much more fitting for her fierce fangs and adorable grimace than an angelic name would be. Although she was shy at first, her cat mom says that Loki became incredibly affectionate once she adjusted and learned to trust. Koch, her owner, describes her as the most affectionate and cuddly cat he has ever had.
As per the sources, Loki Kitteh is doing well and doesn’t have any vision issues despite having to stay alert with one eye open. In fact, this makes her look like a feline vampire! The owner, Koch, doesn’t have much information about Loki’s past and took her in when she was about 8 years old. Although we don’t know much about her charming looks, Koch makes sure to pamper her cat to compensate for the time lost.
It feels like just yesterday when Loki Kitteh first appeared on Instagram with their inaugural picture in January 2015. Time sure flies!
During her typical day, the fully-grown female cat exudes an abundance of charm and is an absolute natural in front of the camera lens.
